Faithful Unto Death, by Stephanie Jaye Evans

Walker "Bear" Wells is a Church of Christ minister, married to a very independent minded Annie Laurie, and father to Merrie, the good girl, and Jo, the spitfire.  The husband of one of Bear's parishioners turns up dead, and in the course of his efforts to offer comfort and spiritual guidance, Bear uncovers a wealth of secrets and lies that lead him closer and closer to the truth.  Evans offers entirely lovable characters, including the good-hearted but oftentimes irascible and sometimes clueless Bear, and a family whose interactions are mesmerizing.  Certainly I didn't expect to love it, but I did.
