Secrets to the Grave, by Tami Hoag

I truly did not like this book.  Long-winded, repetitive, ridiculously plotted, hackneyed, and tortuously and torturously plotted.  It's not that Hoag can't write a good thriller, so maybe it's that she can't sustain a series.  A woman is horribly murdered, her young daughter nearly so, and the people in charge of discovering her killer and protecting her daughter screw both of those things up.  A lot. Over and over. Jeez.
