Outrage, by Arnaldur Indridason
Icelandic Detective Elínborg is tenacious, committed to her work and her family, and perhaps something of a divergent thinker. With Elendur off who knows where, she catches a murder case in which a man had his throat slit and his mouth stuffed full of Rohypnol. She follows the clues laid out by her nose and her logic around various communities around Reykjavik. This is the second Indridason I've read and I felt as if I were missing pieces of the puzzle. Slow moving but interesting.
Serviceable writing. It did keep me turning the pages, but not fully engaged in the story. Perhaps it was because it was translated or because the procedures for investigating crimes are different in Iceland, but some things seemed a little off, such as Elinborg's technique for questioning people.
