Drive, by James Sallis

Driver has been a natural behind the wheel since he was a kid.  Now he's the most in-demand stunt driver for action films and a get-away-car driver for heists.  Even though he refuses to participate in the planning or the execution of the robberies, he gets into big trouble when things don't go according to plan.  The story scoffs at the notion of a chronological telling, but it's not impossible to follow.
