Bad Moon on the Rise, by Katy Munger

It's been a while since I read a Katy Munger Casey Jones book, but I remembered her colorful cast of characters immediately:  Casey Jones, ex-con and unlicensed PI, and her cohort, Bobby D., the charismatic Little Debbie addict; Marcus, the black, gay police department clerk; and Burly, Casey's wheel-chair-bound ex-beau.  Casey is asked to locate Corndog Sally's drug-addicted daughter and grandson and becomes involved in an investigation of a shop-of-horrors prison.  Could have been the book, but could also have been my inability to focus, but the book didn't take off for me until Casey went undercover behind bars.
