This book won the Mystery Writers of America First Crime Novel Award, and I see why. Hamrick did a great job with her Egyptian setting, a medium-end tour of Egypt; the hapless, gauche, annoying and friendly folks on tour; and the relations between the cousins, Jocelyn and Kyla. The plotting was careful and the herrings suitably red. Maybe I need to take a tour of Egypt some March.
