Give + Take, by Stona Fitch

The book is set in the Fabulous Baker Boys world of lounge acts.  Ross Clifton, aka Ross Wolfshead, is a jazz pianist, diamond  and BMW thief, Robin Hood.  He meets and falls in love with Marianne London, aka Mary Rose Williams, singer, identity thief, and sole support of her aging mother.  He travels briefly with his boy genius nephew Cray, who is widely distributing money printed by his counterfeiter dad, Ray.  Sounds a little silly, eh, but it is well written, engaging and fun, and it raises some thought-provoking issues.  Cray and Ross have an interesting conversation about whether Ross's giving stolen money to the poor does good or ill in the beneficiaries' lives.
