Still Life with Bread Crumbs, by Anna Quindlen

An absolutely charming book; funny, touching and thoughtful.  Rebecca Winter is a 60-year-old photographer whose heyday has come and gone.  The expense of her New York apartment, her mother's nursing home bills, and supplements to her father's and son's incomes are no longer supported by the reproduction fees on her iconic photographs. She moves into almost habitable cabin in upstate New York and the rent on her NYC apartment almost covers all the bills.  She learns some interesting lessons about life on the other end of the lens.
