Bones Are Forever, by Kathy Reichs

I truly love how didactic (in the best possible way) Reichs is.  Every book is an abridged education in something -- this time diamond mining, and, of course, some new forensic stuff.  Brennan is called in when an infant's body is found under a sink, and she ends up chasing the baby's mother across Canada in a posse including two old beaux, Ryan and Hasty.  Lots of humor, lots of heart, lots of bodies.
