This is the sixth in the Elizabeth Goodweather series and probably not the place to begin. I suspect you need to have built up a stockpile of fondness and affinity for Elizabeth based on previous books to maintain sympathy for her during this book. Elizabeth's high-maintenance younger sister, Gloria, arrives for an extended visit while Elizabeth is supposed to be planning her own wedding, Gloria takes the reluctant Elizabeth on a wild ride that takes in the henchman of Gloria's most recent husband, a long-lost son, a few paranormal happenings, and a lot of shopping and pampering. A parallel story about Nellie Bly and some pseudo-psychic confidence women and a real witchy woman, is interspersed throughout.
