Stella Hardesty is taking a break from her night job of adjusting the attitude of men who like to beat their wives, trying to get her step-nephew, his girlfriend, and her son out of trouble. Chip's trouble revolves around his gambling addiction, Natalya's trouble around her dead husband, and Luke's trouble around his drug sales. Maybe because her clients are all so skanky, maybe because Stella spends so much time trying to convince herself that her new love interest is as interesting as Sheriff Goat Jones, this book isn't as engaging as her others.
