The Reckoning, by Jane Casey

Casey tells a great story.  Her characters, lovable, despicable, or admirable, are wonderfully drawn.  Her plotting is both perfectly logical and utterly surprising.  DC Maeve Kerrigan is assigned to join the hunt for a serial killer who is torturing and murdering the convicted sex offenders in a London neighborhood.  Her DI is an obnoxious jerk, her on-again/off-again relationship with DC Rob Langton is messing with her mind, and the killings are just the beginning of a far more complicated story.

  1. Couldn't have said it better. Great story, well-written characters that feel like real people. Can't wait for more by Casey.
