A Timely Vision, by Joyce and Jim Lavene

A decent airplane book, the right size and density to keep one's mind off crashing but not actually requiring attention.  Dae O'Donnell is the mayor of Duck, a small fairytale town on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Like her grandmother, she can locate lost things by holding the hands of the person who has lost them.  She does this just about every 50 pages, whether it advances the plot or not.  Though it's clear to the casual observer that the new guy in town, ex-FBI agent Kevin Brickman is smitten with her, she's seems remarkably obtuse about it.  And, of course, there is a murder -- 90-year-old Miss Lizzie is murdered, and her older sister, Miss Mildred, is accused.
