Girls in White Dresses, by Jennifer Close

This set of vignettes about young women who meet in college and remain friends through their twenties is funny, thoughtful and sometimes moving.  Bridal and baby showers and weddings bring them back together as life pulls them apart.  They are seen finding careers and partners, and trying to stay connected with friends who are at different places in their lives.  Careers, serious relationships, marriages, babies and divorce are presented as  obstacles to maintaining single-girl relationships but not entirely insurmountable ones.
