The Burning, by Jane Casey

Another solid mystery featuring DC Maeve Kerrigan.  This works on so many levels:  the mystery is complex, the interactions among DI Godley's team intriguingly juvenile, the alternative narrators often offering different perspectives on the same events.  Five women are bludgeoned to death and set on fire, and the small distinctions between the last murder and the preceding four call for a separate smaller scale investigation run by Kerrigan.  Kerrigan spends her time looking into the life of Rebecca, trying to discover what caused her to spiral out of control in her final months.  Rebecca's best friend Louise is one of the narrators.
