Robotham writes an amazing novel. His familiar characters -- the former police officer Vincent Ruiz, the journalist Luca Terracini, and the psychologist Joe O'Loughlin -- are great, and the new ones -- Daniela Garner the accountant and Holly Knight the damaged thief -- are equally well-imagined and unique. The story takes facts about the global financial crisis and posits a remarkably believable banking conspiracy.
