I like the Bad Day books. Stella Hardesty, the avenger, is resourceful and determined. Chrissy is becoming a true partner. Noelle is no longer the obnoxious, judgmental daughter. Sheriff Goat isn't much of a character, but Stella's attraction to him and her knowledge that he will be her downfall are some of the best parts. This story follows Priss Porter's efforts to blackmail Stella into helping with the disposal of a body with photos of Stella beating up an abusive husband (her night job), and Stella's following Priss's body-strewn path to retrieve the photos.
