Ring of Death, by Sally Spencer

This is the second of Spencer's books focused on DCI Monika Paniatowski. The first, The Dead Hand of History, wasn't as well received. Lots of the previous works in the "Cloggin-it Charlie" Woodend series were quite well liked. My favorite Spencer-ism is that she tells you what the character thinks right before she tells you what they actually say. The mystery facing Paniatowski and her team involves several apparently unconnected men who are murdered and then posed naked on hands and knees. And causing trouble is an ominous government agent, Forsyth, who might be a recurring character. Colin Beresford is an interesting character, too. Who knew Sally is actually Alan Rustage?
